backup without diskette

When making a full system backup with the backup program from xp pro, at the
end it asks for a diskette (without possibilty to point to a cd-r or
usb-stick ...). My laptop does not have a diskette drive and the backup
fails. Any suggestions?

thanks,
rocky

You have to back it up to your harddrive first, then burn it to a cd. The xp
backup utility does not have the ability to backup directly to cd's or
dvd's.

You are talking about the ASR function in NTbackup. Sorry there is no
way around it. To use ASR it must be on a floppy.
