Backup Utility

Hello,
I configured a Win2k server to use the backup utility to
write data to an onboard DDS4 Tape drive. I configured a
daily job to write to a specific tape for each day of the
week. For example I configured a Job for Monday to write
to the same tape labeled Monday and scheduled the job to
run every Monday. Using the wizard to set up and schedule
the jobs, I made the data selections, configured the job
to run and write to the tape to overwrite the media.

The problem is, the job will only run once, when the tape
is blank. Every subsequent monday, the log shows
that "There was no Blank media available". I double and
triple checked the job properties and it shows the job is
configured to overwrite the tape. All service packs and
patches are current on the system. What the heck am I
doing wrong???

The RSM (Removable Storage Manager)is not being updated
after manual Tape changes. NTBackup must be running in the
background and is activated by the scheduled job. When the
tape is changed the following day the RSM is not notified
because NTBackup is not running.

Simply put nothing was done "wrong".
