Backup Utility - Restoring only .pst file

Trying to restore only the outlook .pst file using the XP backup utility.
When I use the restore and manage option, I am able to choose the .pst file,
but it automatically chooses all of C drive. Is there a way around this,
restoring only the .pst file?

If you click the pst file in the backup utility, whole parent files/folders/drive
will be checked but the parent files/folders will be light checked. I mean they have
only transparent check marks. If this is true, then don't worry, go ahead.
I suggest you to backup the file to alternate location.

Thanks. I actually just figured that out and went back here to post a follow
up. everything restored and I only lost one day of emails. *note to self -
make sure your .pst files are under 2g before you archive. *note to microsoft
- fix the 2g archive limit.

Have you compressed the .pst file?

File - Data File Management - Settings - Compress.
