Backup Tool - out of memory error

can anybody help with a:
"Out of memory, Backup Failed !"
error.
2 GB RAM, loads of space on network drive

What are you storing on the network drive, your outlook data file or the
backup?

so much for trying to be brief

have done what I should have before posting:
deinstalled software (needed manual removal, must've been faulty install)
re-installed
now fine
