Does anyone know how to automate a back up which spans several tapes? I was
amazed to read in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article "Ntbackup.exe does
not prompt you to change the backup media when the media is full" that this
can simply be impossible using batch files running the back up program's
command line and you have no option but to do the thing manually. The
workaround it suggests is "To work around this problem, if you do not have
to schedule a backup, run Backup manually from the Start menu" ! I have done
multi-tape automated back ups for years using NT and after filling the first
tape it simply puts up a message saying "Insert Next Tape" and waits for me
to do this. Can this really not be arranged in XP when running back up from
a batch file?
Many thanks for any light you can shed.
