Backup Server not Assuming Login Duties

I have a small network with W2K as my NOS. I have setup a
backup server which has failed to assume the roles of
authenticating users. All my services are working and
when I click properites on my Backup Server it
says "Backup Server".

I have DNS and WINS working fine.

Any clue?

You may need to seize the PDC Emulator role to the Backup server if/when the
primary fails, especially if you are dealing with any downlevel clients.
FSMO role transfer/seizure does not happen automatically.
