Backup Recovery Diskette

Running XP Backup
"Backup Status
The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The operation was
aborted."
I have a good floppy in the drive and this is the message I get.
Help please

A floppy holds 1.4mb of data,youre backup will exceed that many times over,
when the wizard suggests the floppy,use the scroll bar & select the cdrw,or
create a new folder,select folder,then move to cd.

Thank you for your reply. I want to back up to a slave hard drive with 2X
the capacity of the master. The problem with the wizard is that it stops me
at the "make a recovery disk" and I don't see any options other than the
floppy

Regardless of where you store the recovery backup, XP requires a boot
floppy to be made. If you do not have a floppy drive, you cannot use this
portion of NT backup.

There are other third party recovery programs that do not require a boot
floppy. For example, Acronis True Image will create a bootable CD. Booting
with the CD to restore a full system backup is quite easy (been there, done
that).
