Backup PST file to External Hard Drive

Every night I backup my entire "documents and settings" folder and sub
folders to an external hard drive using a backup program called
BounceBack Pro, which backs up in native format (i.e. no compression
scheme is used). The PST file for my Outlook 2003 does not back up.
What do I have to do to make a copy on the external hard drive?

I tried installing the "backup PST" file from Microsoft, but it will
not let me make a backup. When I try to make the backup I get the
error message:
"Cannot copy Outlook: The process cannot access the file because
another process has locked a portion of this file."

I get the same error message if I try to copy the PST file from my c:\
hard drive into the appropriate folder on my e:\ external hard drive.

Help!?

You have to make sure Outlook is closed when the backup program runs.

Make sure Outlook is closed. Use the Task Manager to see that all instances
of the OUTLOOK.EXE process are gone.

If you see more than one instance of OUTLOOK.EXE, then you have an add-in
that's not letting outlook close properly. See
