Backup over network

I have a Vista laptop that I want to backup over my network to a desktop
machine running XP professional. When I start Vista Backup the option to
select a network-based destination is grayed out.

Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

what version of vista do you have?
Vista basic doesn't have network backup feature.
Any version home premium and up have network backup.
