Backup issue

On March 10 our AD domain was migrated to Windows 2003 native mode.
Shortly after our backups quit backing up the system state on our servers.
The message we get is access denied.
These servers being backed up reside in another domain. That domain is NT
4.0. The backup service account is located in the AD domain and has domain
admin rights in the NT 4.0 domain.
The backup software is Veritas Backup Exec 8.5
Has anyone heard about problems like this and maybe a fix? We were able to
move one of our backup servers into the AD domain and that appears to have
fixed the problem. However, we have another backup server that doing this to
will not be possible.

Try just creating an account on the NT4 domain, you can add accounts via a
wizard in Backup Exec, this will ensure it has the correct Act as a Service
rights

Originally we had used an account from the nt 4.0 domain to do the backups,
but when we when to native mode that account would not work any longer and
then we had to use an ad account to get it to work
