Matt

I am trying to start a new backup operation in Win2000 but
it won't give me access to my d drive, currently logged
onas an administrator etc so should be no problems with
priviledges

Sence it will nto give you access to the drive then make
sure you do not have applications running in the
background that are located on the "d:" drive. If there
are none and you are sure then I would suggest booting
into Safemode and trying that way. I am going to take a
stab that "d:" is your Hardrive? Pleas edrop somemore
info on the setup you have.
Hope this helps
