Backup for HD

Hello,

I've recently experienced a couple of major computer problems one of which
required a restore to full system recovery with resultant loss of time and
settings.

What I want to do is get another HD, install it an USB accessible enclosure
and periodically do a full system backup to the HD. Then if I have another
major problem I can physically replace the problem drive with the one from
the USB enclosure and be up and running in minutes in lieu of hours/days.

Will this work?..with Windows XP home.

Get TrueImage from Acronis.com. 39.95, you can clone disks, backup by
creating an image and more.

To my mind Acronis True Image ideally suits for cloning hard disk.
I cloned my HDD several times, so it shouldn't be any problem with USB.
