I was going to backup my hard (using Nero) drive until I found out it
would take 4 DVDs. I have all programs on discs so I'm not concerned
about losing those.

What I'm asking is, is there a site or can someone tell me what files
to backup (using WinXP)?
Thank you.

try zipping the files onto a zip drive

these little usb drives are real handy...all my data is
on usbdrives and kept in floor safe.

give us a break........
these DVD's are CHEAP
what is the problem here?
i see no problem.

At a minimum, back up anything you can't replace: personal files, email and
news message stores.

If you still have current setup files on your drive, may want to backup any
download drivers, updates and patches to avoid having to download them
again.

You can reinstall your programs and Windows. May want to look into using
FAST (Files and Settings Transfer wizard) to transfer settings and program
preferences. A nice overview article on this feature can be found here:

Thanks all for the info.
