Backup file too large to write on DVD

Hi:
i backup my system by using window xp pro,>> advance backup, >>automated
system recovery wizard, but the file size is greater then a dvd 4.7g . how
can i burn in to 2 dvd. please hlep!

You will have to use some method to split the file into two parts.. Whether
that is zipping it into multiple files or using some other file splitting
application... That is about your only choice.

You will need the same application available when combining the file back
into one for restore.

You also may want to consider making different backups.. One for system, one
for your personal files - perhaps even splitting the personal files into
subcategories if needed for additional diversity.

Try http://www.firestreamer.com/ It allows use of multiple DVDs with
ntbackup. You could also use a different backup program. See the following

Those kind of backups are useless. They become out of date fast and
impossible to restore if your OS is broke.
Only backup your data generated by your programs. Your programs and OS are
already backed up on their original install sets.
Backup your mp3's separately as well as videos or other media.
If you have a large Oracle database or Quicken database, they have their own
export/import data save options.
