Backup did not complete sucessfuly. Error 800700aa

I have tried 3 times, without fail to use Vista's Backup to backup system.
It appears as if there is "Requested resource in use."

By question is this two part:
1) What is causiing this error
2) Since this error occured 7 DVDs into my backup: is there any way to
restart the backup for that failure point?

Specifics: I'm trying to "backup files on my computer" as opposed to
"backing up computer".

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but....I tried to use DVD's
as my backup destination and gave it up as a losing proposition. It took
too many DVD's, took too long even when it worked correctly, and often gave
me errors similar to yours. I then bought an external 160 GB USB drive for
my backups and have had zero problems backing up since then. The drive cost
only $60 and was money well spent in my view....I have since thought that
Vista should come with an explicit recommendation to do your backups on
external drives (although I suppose a storage location elsewhere on a
network or on the internet might work ok, but not DVD's). Just my two
cents....
