backup dc

Hi,
I just went in a new job place, they got only *one* DC in their Active
Directory.
I would like to setup immediately a backup DC using a refurbished desktop :)
, is there any hints to do it or just install w2k server then run dcpromo ?
I'm an AD-newbie, what kind of backup strategies must I deploy to have a
good recovery on AD ?
Thanx a lot for any info :)

Take your time on this - that is most important. Do a bit of research.
Microsoft has a TON of information on thier support pages in the form of
white papers that will give you all the info you need to do this right.

Basically, install w2k, point it to the first DC for DNS, dcpromo it, then
delegate a few rights to the new server. If you read up a bit on AD you'll
quickly find out which roles to delegate away from the first DC.

Good luck!
