What i'm trying to do is quite simple. Just take a backup of an access
database file to another location on the disk. I start the backup utility
that comes with XP and select ONLY the file i want to backup. I schedule it
daily, every 10 minutes. But when the backup starts after 10 minutes other
files are included in the backup. I've verified this multiple times and made
sure that only the file I want is selected.

Any Ideas?

thx

Are you using NT Backup for this? My suggestion would be to use a
third-party backup program like SecondCopy or Back Up My PC. They will
do what you want more easily.

I've done this and had no problems.
Check your backup selections.
Did you select a directory or a specific file?
What "other files" get included in your backup set?
