Backup a 2003se PDA

Hi.
I can't seem to find the way to backup my rx3715 in the windows mobile
device center. I know where the option should be, but it's simply not there.
Also, my PDA has an interesting tenancy to get stuck while connected to my
PC. Any way to solve any one of these problems?

How far along does it get "stuck" and what was it doing. Mine gets
"stuck" during a file transfer or sync within the first 25% and then the
computer reports that it lost connection to the device if given enough
time. The crazy thing is that I am using a usb cable to hook up the pda.
