Vista no longer recognises my mobile device - What gives?

I have 2 computers running Vista (Ultimate on my tower, Home Premium on my
laptop). I have a Qtek S200 PDA/phone running Windows Mobile 5.0 OS 5.1.195
(Build 14847.2.0.0). I have set up a Mobile device partnership with my PDA
that up to last Friday was working fine and synchronizing my Outlook data
between tower and PDA. This is no longer happening. Worse yet, Vista doesn't
even recognise that my PDA is connected through a USB cable. I have followed
the advice in the FAQs and have uninstalled and re-installed mobile device
center, I have tried restoring my computer to a period before I made my last
successful synch. I have even re-installed Windows mobile 5.0 on my PDA with
no success. Now I have a PDA with no contacts, emails, etc. and I can't synch
with either my tower OR my laptop with which I previously had also
established a partnership. WHAT GIVES?

There's actually a MS presence there now and then.
