Backup 7 GB file to USB drive

I am trying to get a snapshot of a 7+ GB SQL database and its log file and
backup (also about 7 GB) from a Win2K SBS onto an 80 GB USB drive in
preparation for reformatting the server's drive in preparation for making it
a terminal server on another domain.

However, the USB HD is formatted FAT32 and I did not put two
and two together on the 4 GB file size limit until after the initial copy
failed. I want a relatively permanent copy of this DB should the need arise
to restore it at some point in the future. I did copy it off to my main file
server, but now I have about 15 GB of additional data going onto every full
backup.

Options? Ideas on how/where else to store something like this? Any native
DVD format that will hold over 7 GB, or would that require a special burner?
If I recall (and I certainly stand to be corrected), the standard DVD
capacity is about 4 GB.

Create a large NTFS partition on the USB drive.

Will the USB HD not format to NTFS?

There are (or rather will be when available) laarger DVD options

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvd#Single_and_Dual_Layer_naming

for example "DVD-18: double sided, double layer on both sides"
