Using the Backup Utilities for Windows, can anyone tell me how I go about
selecting the backup terms for my personalised settings for Outlook Express?

Haven't used the Windows Backup utility, but doesn't it say there in its
help file? Or maybe the microsoft website has more on that, and its use
and customizations.

The Windows Backup utility isn't held in the highest regard in most
circles. That's probably why it's not even installed on a normal
"Home' installation and why people have to find it on their
installation disc.

Regardless of it's popularity, WBU works just fine for me in most
situations, it even allows the user to automate backups with it's scheduler
and all the user has to do is browse the locations where they want to back
up their files or settings from. Problem here is I am not quite sure as to
where to locate my settings to such programs as Outlook Express. After a
Restore of a computer having these settings backed up would really be a big
help. It takes months and months to personalise and custimise one's
computer.

Thanks for your replies...

Spend $36 (Newegg.com) on Acronis True Image and you can restore one
file at a time, one directory at a time - all from WITHIN Windows - or
you can restore everything at one time quite easily using the bootable
CD on a system restart.

AND you can automate full backups, or just backups of your selected
data files and the backups will be performed while Windows is loaded.

I guess, perhaps, my point/question was not completely understood....

What I would like to do is backup all my personalised settings, not just OE,
I use other programs also that take time to customise and backing them up in
the event that I need to restore my computer would be a great help!

So if anyone can tell me where to browse to while in the Windows Backup
Utility for Outlook Express and Internet Explorer settings I, among probably
others, would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you...

I don't even know what you mean by "Windows Backup
Utility for Outlook Express and Internet Explorer settings"

If it wasn't completely understood then it because you stated in the OP,
"for my personalised settings for Outlook Express?"

Why does it seem that people on these forums are more concerned with
criticising my postings rather than being helpful?

If you posted something that made SENSE to us, we'd be answering your
question directly without trying to pull info out of you like a
dentist pulling teeth.

(If my dentist happens to be reading this thread, please don't take PD43 the
wrong way. PLEASE! It was just a figure of speech. Honest!)
