Backing Up Contacts to a CD

I don't seem to be able to backup my Office contacts list
to a disk in a CD drive. The instructions create
a "personal folder" in another program but don't let me
put the data on the new disk. I have XP, Sony notebook.
 
The file you need to back up is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's
where all the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
