Background downloading!

Help

Running Windows XP home on my computer. Every time I connect to the
internet, my computer automatically starts downloading something. An icon
comes up on the task bar indicating that something is downloading. I don't
know what is going on and I can't stop the download without disconnecting.
No viruses are detected.

Someone said svchost.exe may be a problem.

Help!

If automatic updates are enabled, then this is likely what you are "not"
seeing.
