Can't stop download

Help

Something starts downloading when I connect to the internet. A downloading
icon appears on the task bar indicating the % downloaded. But I can't click
on the icon or stop the downloading.

Somebody said the svchost.exe file could be a problem.

What could be going on?

Hello solonthar,
If the icon in the taskbar is a globe with the Windows flag on it, then you
will probably have Automatic Updates enabled and by the sound of it, it's
probably SP2 downloading, it can take some time especially on a slow
connection. So no need to worry about a virus. If you don't want the download
you'll have to turn off Automatic Updates.

Or if you already have SP2 and the icon is a yellow shield, that's AU too!
