Background & Author Colors

Is there a way to do the following in 2003 and 2007 (we have users on both
platforms at the moment).

1. Working with multiple outlook calendars - personal as well as 4 public
calendars. Is there a way to change the background color of the public
calendars when you view them?
2. On one particular public calendar, we'd like to automatically color code
calendar entries based on who enters them. For example if John creates an
entry on it, let his entries automatically appear in blue. When Steve
creates an entry, let his entries automatically appear in green. And so
on..In 07 we can select the color via categories, but we'd love to have this
done automatically based on user.

1. No. Outlook picks the color based on the order they are opened. You could
open them in a specific order to help control colors, but that is not the
same as picking a specific color.

The order the colors (to the best of my ability to describe subtle
differences as seen on my screen) are automatically assigned in the
following order.
Blue, Green, Pink, Gray, Teal, Purple, Green, dk pink, olive green, lt
purple, brown, teal/green, blue gray, yellow, [repeat colors]
If you want a calendar to always be pink, it needs to be the 3rd calendar
opened.

2. Yes, you can use color categories (2007) and labels (2003). But, unless
every users has the same color assigned to each category, the colors might
vary. Ie, bob is blue on my computer but red on yours. See

for a program that can help.
