Backend Read Only Error

I have a database with a FE/BE design. I have another DB with an ODBC
connection that updates the BE database with data on an hourly basis. This
has worked fine for over a year. Today, the macro ran to update the BE table
and I received an error saying the Backend database is already opened by
another user and that I could not update it. When I check the lock file, it
appears that no one is currently in the database so I can't even identify
which user has it opened exclusively. In the meantime, I am unable to update
my Backend table. Does anyone know a solution to this? Any help is greatly
appreciated. Thanks. Matt.

Hi Matt,

You might try rebooting the machine--that should certainly clear any locks
on the file. Then do a Compact and Repair of the BE database first thing.
