I have Dell Inspiron 510 notebook
1.36GHz Processor Speed
I am trying to back up recent details input on a genealogy programme.
The file is 40.8MB
The CD-RW is a 12X-CD-RW 700MB/80min
disc for High Speed Recorders.
It keeps fvreezing and will not record.
Is the CD the wrong type or can SKS put me right as to what I am doing
wrong?

Bob excuse my ignorance. Didn`t know it might be a different one to the CD
drive on the PC. So i guess I will check then get back to you if I may.
Thanks for your time
Jaycee
OK just checked
Samsung CDRW/DVD SN-324S.
Tried various CD`s new and used.

Ok, the drive and discs match, are you using Windows Explorer to copy
the backup file to the drive? Or are you attempting to directly go from
the "backup wizard" in the genealogy program to the CDRW. If the later,
I suggest backing up to the hard drive first and then do a copy in
Windows Explorer, (followed by write these files to CD)
