Back Up nuisance

I have set the Vista Home Premium backup system to backup my files once a
month - and it seems to be doing this ok.

However, every week or so, it appears in the system tray with a message
saying that it is time to do another backup - which it is not!

Does anyone know how to stop this nuisance please?

This will stop ALL balloon/pop-up messages

Method 1
a.. Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
b.. Navigate to the following subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

a.. Create a new REG_DWORD (32 bit) value, and then name it
EnableBalloonTips
b.. Double-click EnableBalloonTips, and then give it a value of 0
c.. Close Regedit.exe
d.. Log off Windows, and then log back on.
This method applies to Windows XP as well.

Method 2
a.. Click Start and type GPEDIT.MSC
b.. Accept the User Account Control prompt
c.. Navigate to the following branch:
User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Start Menu and Taskbar

a.. Double-click Turn off all balloon notifications and set it to Enabled
b.. Close Group Policy Editor
c.. Log off Windows, and then log back on.
Here is the corresponding registry value for the above setting:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"TaskbarNoNotification"=dword:00000001

Hope this helps.

Thanks but I don't actually get a balloon tip - just a normal sized message
when you hover over the system tray icon. I want to stop the icon appearing
in the first place. Surely it should only appear if one of the scheduled
(monthly) back ups fails for some reason?
