Hi, I need help to backup the entire computer - the "Back up and Restore
Centre" only gives me the option to back up files and folders. Can anyone
help? Thanks.

I'm doing this because I have to run a ?product recovery on my 1 week old
Toshiba Satellite P200....

Ta,

M

What's the version of your Vista? Complete PC Backup only available in Vista
Business or Ultimate.

What you need to do is save all of your important stuff to DVD. You can do
this by using the 'burn' program supplied with your machine. Then all you
have to do is complete the destructive restore and recover your files off of
the DVD..

Thanks Windy - I only have Vista Home Premium... Bugger!
Just another example of Microsoft's "wisdom" when it comes to offering value
to its end-users. Of course, someone running the Home version of Vista
wouldn't need to backup his computer. Why would he, when it's so easy to
just wipe the drive and reinstall this toy operating system? I know, the
Fista Fanboz are going to blame YOU for not doing YOUR research prior to
purchase. You should have looked through all that is/is not available
through all the various Fista versions Microsoft offers BEFORE making your
purchase. So now you're faced with either paying Microsoft to upgrade to a
version with decent backup facilities or else purchase a third-party
program to do this. The latter is probably your better option as
Microsoft's software is generally crap and far better software is
obtainable elsewhere.

Cheers.

Your welcome M,

If you want to try a great backup program, then you can try Acronis
True Image with a fully function 15 day trial version. You can make a
complete computer recovery DVD that boots and installs from.

'Complete hard disk drive copy, cloning and image backup software:
computer files and disk copying'

"Nostop' is a mentally deranged linux troll. He can't afford Vista or
any MS software for that matter so he is not an experienced MS software

jealous of all who have it.
IOW's pay no attention to this lying linux loser troll.

It looks like this forum is infiltrated by agents of Acronis True Image
Sales Department.

"Really Great Program" LOL

Just another scam.

Got that wrong, again, Frankie Boy. He's got much more intelligent ways to
waste his money than on Microsoft crapware. For example, folding up $10
bills into paper aeroplanes and tossing them off a 10 story building.

Cheers.

PS. Do read my sig - it's there to help YOU.
