Back up and restore utility will not restore back up

My hard drive recently crashed and I had a windows backup files stored on
another drive. I had my hard drive replaced and used my system restore disks
to restore the original configuration which worked fine. Now I try to restore
my backup files using the windows back up and restore wizard and it tells me
when I try to expand the back up in the wizard that no files are found. Any
help would be appreciated.

Ownership does not appear to be an issue. The computer is a stand alone with
only one user account. The security tab doesn't even show up when I do a
properties on the .bkf file.

Disable Simple File Sharing (if using XP Pro....)

And if Home, boot to Safe Mode to look at Properties again. (F8 on restart)
