aving WORD Always Use The Same Font; How Please

B

Bob

Hello,

Using Word 2007.

I looked all over, honest, but just can't find the option or setting
that allows me to define the font style, and font size, that will cause
WORD to Always use it when I create a new document.

And for the margins, line spacing, etc. ?

How do I do this, please ?

Thanks,
Bob

In a new Blank Document, in the Font, Paragraph, or Page Setup dialog, set
the font style and size, line spacing, or margins you want and click the
Default... button. Word will ask if you want those choices to be applied to
all new documents based on the Normal template. Say yes.

Suzanne's advice is sound, as usual, and you should try that first.

The next level up is to define a collection of styles (a 'style set')
that contains all the fonts you will usually want to use, e.g., for body
text, headings, emphasis, strong, etc. and set that as your default
style set that will appear in the ribbon (in the 'quick style gallery')
every time you start Word and be instantly available to you.

Unfortunately, Microsoft makes this simple task frustratingly
complicated. Nevertheless, once you finally 'get it', you can easily
make your documents look exactly as you wish vs. how some people in
Redmond think they should look.
