AVI FILE SHOWS AS BLANK WHITE WHEN PLAYED IN POWERPOINT ?

I am using Powerpoint 2003, the AVI file is using the codec Indeo 5.1 and the
AVI plays when double clicked in explorer. When the file is inserted into
powerpoint as a movie it shows a still image of the movie but when played it
just shows as a blank white box. Any ideas?

Ian,
Maybe the path is too long, paths including the file name should not be
longer than 128 characters. So try shortening the path.
Place the video file in the same folder as your presentation and insert it
again.
If that does not work, holler back.

Yes I've had the same problem with clients presentations, I suspect its
the usual missing codec problem that haunts all powerpoint users. I
manage to cure this 90% of the time by using STOIK video converter to
resave the AVI files (you don't need to convert them to another
format). Remember you will need to reinsert the movies into your
presentation.
You can download a free copy of STOIK at
