AVG

I have just installed the free version of AVG. In the computer information
panel it states I have WIN 2000 Pro, WIN version 5.1, Build 2600. I have in
fact WIN XP. It seems to be working alright but has anyone else the same
problem. (if it is a problem)

Hi,
What they mean is that AVG6 free version that you installed is compatible
with Win 2000 and Win version 5.1 Build 2600 which is WinXP Pro.

That is what WinXP is, version 5.1, build 2600.

Must be a slip of the tongue by AVG - mine says the same and I'm running XP
Pro. Mine works perfectly too.

If you're running XP Pro and aren't knowledgable enough to realize the
MS internal name for it, I have to ask, why are you running it in the
first place?

I did not day I was running XP Pro. I said XP.
