AVG with RC2...

agree betas are fun now (not) I have yet to boot my clena install of RC1
today as I really couldn't even send a bug report correctly something was
conflicting - perhaps AVG which would not et me even tweak the settings :( I
may be back to Trend install (not happy) but I know from Beta2 AVG didn't
like my computer setup even though it likes the XP side of the boot.

Strange how one beat fixes a lot for some but beaks bits for others. This is
the first one I have had problems with beta2 -> RC1 was notably better RC1 ->
RC2 installed fine but then after installing Office and AVG problems although
I had montior issues not seen in RC1 - puzzles ;)

It sure has been an experience learning how to deal with the bugs, glitches,
and things that go terribly wrong.

AVG 7.5 Beta free for a while....

Hi,

Actually avg 7.5 is available in a free (final) version as well - though
there is a possible bug in its vista implimentation which can be solved by
installing it using compatability mode for xpSp2 on the installer. They say
it will be fixed in the next free edition as they already know what caused
it.

If you don't already know the bug is that the resident shield will not load
and run successfully acording to the tray program icon.

The free version can be found at ;

Hope this helps.

Hi All,
I downloaded Avast version 4.7 Home Edition yesterday. This is fully
compatible with RC2 and appears to be working well.
Regards,
Stuart
