AVG laptop problem

Hi,
My AVG on my PC works fine but when I recently installed it on new
laptop I have a problem - Every time I start up I have to reactivate
the "Resident Shield" function again. I have the AVG 6.0 free version
and WinXP Home on Toshiba Satellite A10 laptop. Anyone else had this
happen and know of any solution? TIA, Denise.

I'd recommend investing in decent antivirus software. I use Nortons and
there are other good programs to be had. Safe sex means buying your own
condoms. The more unprotected computers there are the faster the infections
spread. I don't want to appear snooty, although I probably do, but the more
careful we all are the safer and more pleasant the web will be for everyone.

Did you try the update ? I know with an older version of AVG you will have
problems with XP until you do the update. Maybe uninstall and install the
latest version will work. Also worth mentioning some worm virus will not let
AVG load at startup.

You got that right. ;)

AVG is an excelent product free or not, has a lot of features, won't bring
your computer down to a crawl and was catching the Swen Worm before Norton,
I might add.

But I'm sure I have the latest free version - Version 6.0.521 Release
date 02/09/2003? I read this date as 2nd Sept. 2003 as the date shown
for the new virus database which i have just downloaded today is shown
as 23/09/2003. DW.

Follow-up:
I reinstalled the program and problem now gone.

FIRST IN YOUR MAILBOX ON THE SERVER FROM YOUR PROVIDER.
THEN YOU HAVE A LOT OF EMAILS THEN YOU SEE THAT THEY SELECTED WITH A
