AVG free updated to 8.0.169 a few days ago- today another big update

there is a major update to AVG Free 8.0 (the version number will be the
same). when you click check for updates- you will see a very long list of
updates. If you only see a small list (2 definition files) you will need to
click again.

The update servers are very busy and overloaded so i suggest you the update
tomorrow or keep trying every few hours. This is a manual update- you might
not see it in your regular updates.

If it fails (and it has on many computers today because of the overload) try
it again in a few hours.

The bigger one with the longer list actually showed here yesterday, but
you're right the server was busy. The way AVG free shows updates seems
confusing to me. The main screen shows the user is secure and up to
date even when updates are available, while clicking on Update loads
updates as if they aren't there. Doing it again seems to load the same
ones over and over, without ever saying there is no need, like most
security programs do.
