AVG Free AntiVirus -some problems lately- anyone else?

Lately I've experienced some problems with AVG Free Antivirus(latest
version 7.5xxx).
First about a week ago each automatic daily dat update required a reboot
( I've since figured that one out two seting had been changed, this
change wasn't done by my had I know),
Second problem was a number of old files started to get labled as virus,
trojan and what have you, These files were various programs that had
resided in a folder that had been scanned numerous times before with no
problems ...some files were two to three years old.
Most were deleted or sent to the vault by AVG.
I have suspected that AVG was giving false positives but wasn't sure.
Today during the scan AdbeRdr70_DLM_enu_full.exe gave a warning it
contained Trojon horse SHEUR CKV.
This was a direct download from Adobe so I don't think it is a problem.
Anyone else experienced this with AVG free in the last little while.
Yeah I know go ask over on AVG Free forum, thought I'd ask here first and
maybe experience less of a hassle about where I posted my query.(G)
TIA

Yup, I have the game Sacred on the PC and AVG has picked it up, quote:
Sacred.exe is a trojan virus.
AVG then deleted the file and the game needs to be reinstalled.

When was the last time you reported a problem to Grisoft concerning their
"FREE" virusScan program and got an answer or solution in a quick timely
fashion, Usually you are referred to the "FREE" forum which in it's self
is another story?

Does the free version not allow you to alter the test settings?,not to
"automatically heal"?and allow you a choice of what to do with the
suspect file?.Any av that automatically heals/deletes a file may cause
problems and that setting should be avoided.A deleted file can usually be
restored from the vault.

I had some problems with AVG and am now trying Avast free AV. About a week
and so far it works perfectly and I have had no problems.

I've been using Avast since May with no complaints. Been thinking of
trying Avira.

I experienced your first problem too. I reset the update manager and all
is well now......no clue what made it change. On my wife's laptop, she
experienced no changes...strange.
