AVG crippled

Following (so probably because of) virus infection AVG does not
function properly. The Control Center is not loaded, but can be loaded
manually, and the automatic update will not work (just sticks without
going on line). Updates work if downloaded manually and placed in the
update directory.

Removing and reinstalling AVG did not help.

TIA for any advice.

I had a lot of trouble with AVG7.0 trial version. Dont even bother with it.

Waht trouble exactly did you have?.Is it particular to your system or a
known bug?I have used AVG 7 and apart from the fact that i didnt like the
interface much , i didnt have any trouble at all on a w98 machine.
