AVG certification

I am now using NTL as my server could this be the reason why AVG7 mail
certification will not work, no matter what I do to try and configure it

You mean your mail servers are pop.ntlworld.com and smtp.ntlworld.com? If
you have AVG configured correctly then the incoming and outgoing servers
as listed within Outlook Express will be different as they go through AVG
for checking first.

By the way, AVG7 is not freeware.
