AVG Anti-virus

I am new to this group so please excuse me if I am not always on target
I used to use AVG and thought it was exellant but I dont any more because I
am fairly shure that when you download the updated deffinitions it comes
bundled with SPYWARE namly Downloadcom.com. The spyware was found by a
program called Spy Sweeper which has found severall spys on my hard dics

I've been using avg for a while now and have never had any spyware with it,
i use adaware regularly, you have got a dodgy download from somewhere other
than grisoft.

I also use Ad-aware and Spybot Search and Destroy.. Both Ad-aware and
Spybot did not find this Spy but Spy Sweeper did----it was bundled in with
the downloaded file.

Never heard of spy sweeper so dl'd it to try, didn't find anything though.

The alt.privacy.spyware newsgroup does not give it good reviews. It gives
too many false positive detections.
I doubt that there is any "spyware" in the binary definitions that AVG
downloads.

Your system time or timezone is incorrect. Probably still set for the
default OS install timezone. Double click on the clock display and check
it there.

I have used AVG for years and never had any spyware I use adaware and
spybot, neither have ever detected anything avg related. Did you download
from www.grisoft.com?

I've used Adware, then Spy Sweeper and now I use Spybot S&D. Of the three
S&D found 'items' that the other two didn't.

Yes straight from Grisoft. I always try to get software directly from the
publishers website
