avast ok with xp?

hi there. i want to use avast anti-virus software on my
xp home system but i've heard it is not compatible (says
it is in product min. req.) and will cause crashes and
all sorts of dramas. does anyone know for sure?

Not familiar with the product nor have heard anything bad concerning it.
They have a free trial of the home version try it out.

I use it on XP pro with no probs at all.
