I'm using Avant Browser ver: 10.2 build 25 and it will not go to any
links I click on that would normally open in a new tab. Any ideas please?

Many thanks,
John.

Further to my last post, it does bring up a new tab, but it's labelled
about:blank

Yes and I've just upgraded to v10.2 build 38 with the same problem.

John.

If you upgraded on a program that wasn't working to begin with, then the
origional is corrupted. Start from scratch. Remove the program and clean
your registry then do a fresh install.

hhmmm. I would uninstall Avant and re-install and try again.

But I fear you have a glitch which I can't help with. I'm not
sure what it is within Windows which causes links to be processed
when you click them - probably something to do within IE which
Avant runs off the back of.

[btw - installing v10.2.build 38 will possibly give you several new
problems not present in v10.1.build25 (see another thread about this)
where you get 2 instances of Avant.exe running and a problem with
exiting.]

I also have to say that I have the same problem with 3 different
machines that I've installed this program onto. I'm sure that it must be
something simple in the set-up that I've missed.

It gets murkier...Do you have IE installed and running on all
machines? If you click a link in IE does it open the web page OK?

I do and it does.

OK that tells us that the IE support modules are there and working.
I can think of three other options: Firstly, do you have all of these
..htm script files installed in your Avant Browser folder:?
Search.htm
OpenInNewBrowser.htm
OpenAllLinks.htm
Highlight.htm
AddAllToADBlackList.htm
AddToADBlackList.htm

Secondly, it may be something in the Avant Browser options accessed
from the Tools menu. Unfortunately Avant doesn't store these settings
in an .ini files so I can't send mine over for you to look through.
You will need to go through the settings and tick/untick as best you
think fit, then maybe restart Avant. If you have any specific queries,
I'll answer as best I can.

Thirdly, if these don't work you can ask on the Avant forum:

HTH.

Yes, all of the above files are in my Avant folder.

I'll try the forum later, thanks.

John.

You didn't mention if you had checked the Avant specific settings:

"Tools\Avant browser options"

I have gone through all the settings under the above options with
various degrees of change in an attempt to fix this problem with no luck.
