Available in Outlook Express - Not available in Windows Mail

I know I am less than one grain of sand on the Microsoft World beach but my
frustration weighs on me like a boulder. Three things I miss in Windows Mail
that was available in Outlook Express.

1. A quick & easy way to provide a clean listing of Contact names sorted
Last Name, First name.

2. The ability to print individual Group listings.

3. The ability to print either Groups or the entire Contact listings sorted
alphabetically Last name, first name with e-mail addresses.

We had that easy ability is Windows XP-Outlook Express. We do not have that
easy ability in Windows Vista-Mail. That is not progress.

Hi,

No. 1 and part of No. 3 can be set up in 10 seconds. Open up the Contacts
window from inside Windows Mail (or a shortcut: click open the Start menu,
type `wab' in the search box and hit Enter), then right-click on any one of
the column headers on the top row of the contacts listing. Now click and
select the `First name' and `Last name' columns, and make sure the check
boxes next to them are checked. These two column will now appear among the
column headers.

Now drag and drop the column headers to rearrange them in a sane order.
Maximising the window makes it easier. I have mine arranged like this:

Last name
First name
Email address
Business phone
Home phone
Name (this column header can't be hidden since it's the file name)

Now click Views > Details in the toolbar. This lays out the contacts in a
tabular form, each contact on a single row. Last, click on the `Last name'
column header to sort all the contacts by last name.

To print, select the contact(s) you want to print and click on Print in the
toolbar. The standard print dialog box will pop up.

FWIW, I think they were aiming for flexibility at the expense of ease of
use.
