Autotext "Last Saved By" doesn't update

I am sharing a simple Word doc with someone - we each update it from time to
time, then save and email it back to the other person, and so on.
We have inserted the Autotext Last Saved By in the header and each time that
one of us saves it, we want this to update automatically with the approriate
person's name and the date+time.
However, this doesn't work. If I receive the doc from the other person it
has her save info on it (as it should).
But when I edit the doc and then save it to my own drive, ready to email
back to her, the save info is still shown as hers - NOT my own name and the
date/time.
We are both using Word 2002.
I have searched all over for switches that we might need to enable, etc, but
no clues anywhere, and Word's Help was no help. Please help! Thanx.

This is a field, and like many fields in Word, it does not update
automatically. If you go into Print Preview, it should update since it is in
a header. See http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/File_Name_And_Path.htm toward the
bottom for macros that can be used to update these fields as a part of the
Save command.
