Unless another template is specified, AutoText is stored in Normal.dot. If
she (or some outside force) is renaming or deleting Normal.dot, then the
AutoText entries (aside from the built-in ones) would be lost. One approach
would be to create a template specifically to hold user-created AutoText
entries and place it in Word's Startup folder. The entries would then be
available to all documents and would be protected from anything that happens
(or must be done) to Normal.dot.
Thank you for your prompt response - i must say I am a fan of yours. At any
rate, her normal.dot has not been altered or renamed. I will try your
approach.
