AutoText Entries not saving

We've had several issues with customizations not saving once the user exits
from Word. They are using Word 2003 and yes they also have Adobe 7 (full
version). The Shift/File/SaveAll works fine for most toolbar/menu bar
customizations. However, for AutoText entires it doesn't seem to be
sticking. The AutoText will be there for several days, even after Word has
been closed out, and then one day it will be gone. These are good users who
routinely shut down their computers every night, so it isn't that they
haven't exited out of Word. The odd piece is that it seems to happen
sometime over the weekend. The AutoText was there Thursday AND Friday, but
this morning it's gone. I'm at a loss.

AutoText entries can be lost if Normal.dot is overwritten, either by saving
a document as Normal.dot (an error that is generated by some add-ins) or by
renaming it.

Any possibility there is something inserted by your IS folks that rewrites
normal.dot every once in a while as a part of login?

Otherwise, I store all my AutoText in separate global templates, not
normal.dot. See http://addbalance.com/word/movetotemplate.htm for
step-by-step instructions on moving / sharing / copying / backing-up
customizations including AutoText, AutoCorrect, keyboard assignments,
toolbars, macros, etc.
