Autorestore Problems

I have two applications that, when I start them, auto amtically restore their icons and program groups to the way they were when they were installed. I know it's not an application thing in either case, since I've installed them before and not had this problem--it's a windows setting someplace

I have autorestore turned off on all drives, and they still do this. There must be some registry setting that is controlling this--can anyone tell me what the registry setting is

Second autorestore problem. I hate "My Computer." With a Passion. So, when I install Windows XP, I change the name to something that means something. About three or four times a day, it changes back on its own. Again, I have autorestore turned off on all drives, so there must be something else going on--some registry setting, or some maniacal coder at ms has a "thing" for "My Computer," and can't sleep at night thinking that someone might actually rename their system

Any thoughts on either of these

My Computer - Renam

Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}. Data Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ (Expanded String Value). Rename the value named "LocalizedString" to "LocalizedString.old". Create a new REG_EXPAND_SZ value named "LocalizedString", and set the value to "%USERNAME% on %COMPUTERNAME%". Exit the registry editor, click on your desktop and press F5 (for refresh). The "My Computer" icon should now be rename to "Username on Computername".

Thanks! Any ideas on the first one--two apps that restore their own groups and icons when they start? It's not the apps, I don't think, it's something in the registry telling the windows installer to restore the groups/icons.
