I am using Outlook 2003 with Exchange Server 2000 SP3.

I set up a rule that says - for all messages - "have server reply using a
specific message" but it doesn't work.

When I click on the underlined a blank email pops up and I create the
message I want and apply/ok.

Should the "to" address be blank in the message ? Is there something
additional which must be done ?

Thanks for any help

JM

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with Exchange Server

Are you familiar with http://www.experts-exchange.com

Neglected to mention - it works fine if the message comes from an "internal"
source - it just doesn't work for an "external" source

This is from the 2000 version

On the exchange server, open Active Directory users and computers
Turn on Advanced settings
Highlight the group all users (or make one)
Select Exchange Tasks from the popup menu
Follow the onscreen prompts

Hope this helps

Your Exchange administrator is apparently blocking automatic replies to
external messages.
