autoreply for new email address and spam question

I have an email account which attracts too much spam. Probably because I had
it on a website without any script to trip up email harvesting spiders. Now
I wish to make a new account and set up an autoresponder to tell people who
write to the old address the correct new one. My question is this. Will the
email spammers be able to get the new email address from that autoreply? I
know most spam is automated so I am guessing that they won't.

Most spam addresses exist for a short lifetime or are faked so they might
not.
You could possibly mask the address which would mean it would require manual
intervention to extract it.

In addition to Bill's comments, you may wind up sending your reply to people
you don't even know because often spammers use the addresses of other
innocent people as the sender address for their spew.
