Autoplay not working

T

Trent Rowe

I'm not sure if some program has disabled this or what but none of my
cd's(games/music/programs)will autoplay. I have tweakui for XP and have it
set to autoplay, and even tried turning it on an off through tweakui but
just can't get autoplay working. Is there a registry setting or something
else I can do to make sure autoplay will work?

Thanks,

Trent

Run AutoPlay repair tool to fix the errors:

Often cd burning programs will PERMANTLY disable autorun no matter what
you do to get it back.

http://www.fomine.com/products/cdeject2.exe

has options to force autorun on cds if its needed to install ware, etc
as some drivers/apps just wont install unless they autorun ie they dont
have a setup.exe file.

make sure the "shell hardware detection" service is
enabled in start/run/services.msc.

Microsoft people have informally produced a program to fix up all the
settings of Autoplay - it is available for download from MVP Mike
Kolitz's site:
